Fun with Daddy

As Gretta gets older, Elijah and her are growing closer and closer. They are so much fun to watch together. She loves to play with him when he comes home from work and she absolutely loves the weekends when she wakes up and he is still home. I usually spend our breakfast time Monday morning explaining why Daddy isn’t at breakfast. We have definitely reached the full blown “Why?” stage. Why, isn’t Daddy here? He’s at work. Why is he at work? Because that is how he earns money. Why does he earn money? Etc…BLAH! Sometimes after I have answered a series of why questions I will ask her Why does she think that is? And most times she laughs and says I don’t know.
She is so lucky to have such a great Dad. He loves her so much and he is so great with her. I am so blessed to have both of them in my life.

Valentine's Day 2011

We had so much fun this past Monday on Valentine’s Day. Gretta & I decorated the table for dinner with Roses and Candy. We made dinner for Elijah and Strawberry Milkshakes for dessert. Gretta & I dressed up, and she even got to put on lipstick (which she thought was a really big deal). We all got cards for one another and Elijah picked Gretta up a new coloring book. She thought it was great. It was fun. Here are some picture of our fun evening together.

A Gretta Update

I have not posted in a while and thought you might like a Gretta update. First I am so proud to say, she is potty trained! Yeah!!! She wears and sleeps in her panties all day and all night. We have only had a few night time accidents and we get an occasional daytime accident when she gets to involved in playing or entertaining guests and forgets she has to go potty. But 95% of the time she is wonderful! I am surprised at how easy it was, it was all her I am sure, because I really had no idea what I was doing. I told her she could wear panties if she used the potty and that was pretty much all it took.

Gretta still thinks she is having a baby as well. So, she like to have her picture taken like mine. I've tried explaining that her baby is just pretend. Not sure that she is grasping the whole idea. She actually wanted to have an ultrasound the other day of her baby as well. Elijah smoothed that over. Not exactly sure what he said in the end but it worked. I know his first attempt was to tell her he would check her baby and she let him know pretty quick that he was NOT a Doctor. ha, ha...

She is loving playing in the snow this winter. We have only been out a couple of times, becasue it is sooo cold, but she loves it. She makes snow angels, but she does her a little different, she likes to go face first in the snow. ha, ha.. she thinks it is hillarious.

She received a babydoll for Christmas and she takes very good care of it. We just went and saw a friend yesterday that just had a baby and whatever Kelli, the mom, did with her baby Gretta was trying to do the same thing with her babydolll. I got a glimpse of what my days will be like in 6 months or so. She is so sweet. I am so grateful to have her.
This was taken a couple of weeks ago she was "helping" Elijah do some work around the house. She had her bullseye flashlight, which I should tell you makes a horse trotting noise everytime she uses it. And a waterpaint brush that she kept referring to as her screwdriver. And then she had to put on her hat, because Uncle Lub wears a hat when he works. She followed Elijah everywhere. I am not sure how much he actually got done, but he loved her imitating him. It was fun to watch.

Welch Baby #2

So, we had our 2nd Ultrasound Monday for the baby. Everything is looking good. We will get a more detailed report when we see the Doctor on Feb. 9th. I am 20 weeks now and doing well. I still have some sickness, actually just got sick again today, blah! But for the most part am doing lots better than in week 6. Elijah tells me I only have 19 more weeks to go. He is so thoughtful, but clearly has no idea how long that sounds to a pregnant woman. ha, ha...

We are not finding out if it is a boy or girl this time, well atleast not until the baby arrives! lol I am cracking myself up! Anywho, I am dying to know, even though it doesn't matter and I actually love surprises, but the anticipation kills me.
We have a few names but nothing for sure, yet. Here is a picture from the ultrasound, 1 is from yesterday the other is from the 1st ultrasound at 14 weeks. I just love the 14 week one and wanted to share.
