My First Haircut

Today was a big day for Gretta. She got her haircut for the first time. She did great she sat up in the chair all by herself, there were no tears and afterwards she was so cute. Jennifer (our hairdresser) let her hold a mirror and look at herself and she brushed her hair back with her little hand and says “all done.” It was adorable. Fun little fact, Gretta’s hair was not growing evenly. Her left side was way longer than her right. Not sure why this happened, but hopefully now both sides will grow at the same rate. We kept the clippings and I will be putting those in a scrapbook when I get around to ever doing one of those for her.

Fun with Gretta!

Aubrey & Gretta the original Rock Band!! Sofa cushions make a great stage!! Just in case you can't tell Aubrey had to play all the insturments, but it worked out because Gretta just wanted to do a little singing, but mostl dancing! :)

Gretta feeding Elmo.

So, I don't have a lot to share. I was just downloading picutres off the camera from the past couple of weeks and some really cute pictures that I wanted to post. Gretta continues to expand her vocabulary. We had to take Morgan, one of our dogs, to the vet last week and that was a really exciting trip for Gretta and Morgan. The dog had something wrong with her eye (turns out it is pink eye) anyway when we went back to see Doc Gretta was suprisingly talkitivie to him make sure that he knew that Morgan was her doggie. And now if you mention the dogs she talks about eyes being hurt. It is crazy how much she remembers and picks up on.

In these pictures you will see her new pink princess tent this came from Mama & Papa Shannon. She loves it! It is one of her favorite spots to play and read in. I was not planning to leave it up, but I am not sure that it would go very well if I took it down. :)

We had a fun weekend visiting with friends and family. I am training again for the Indianapolis Mini Marathon and got to do my 7 mile run with Sara (we are planning to do the race together as well). It made the 7 miles go a lot faster with a friend. I am getting pretty excited as it is not that far away.
Well that is all I have to share for now. Can't remember if I shared before but Gretta had her 18 month check up almost 2 weeks ago and it went well. She is 22 lbs and 31 inches tall. Still on the small side, but ahead with her verbal skills. She has now had peanut butter!! Yeah!! She is doing great!! Enjoy the pictures!!

Lots of Little Things

Okay so I have this typed and ready to post for 2 1/2 weeks but I have just not found the time to put it online. Anyway, I am going to have some picutures with it, but we are getting ready to leave! So, here is the info pictures will come later. :)

Gretta has a new stuffed animal friend that she has decided to add to herd of friends that we take with us. It is Bug. We have had bug for a while now, but for some reason Bug became pretty important to Gretta the last couple of weeks. So, now we have Doggie (who has been one of her favorites since her beginning), Baby, Elmo and now Bug. She likes to nap with all of them and we cannot just have one we must have all four.
Gretta also had her first sucker the other week. This seems like a very simple thing. However, she did not know how to eat a sucker. And now as I type this I think and how would she know how to eat a sucker. I showed her but it took her a while to get it. She wanted to just put it to her lips. It was cute and funny.
What else has happened….she just keeps talking. I have lost track of how many words she has too many to count. The new really big word of the week has been humongous. Thank you Sesame Street!!
Elijah’s birthday was this week so we have been working on singing Happy Birthday. She does the “to you” part and that is it but clearly it is the cutest part of the song. We worked on it the day of his birthday and when he got home Gretta decided she didn’t want to sing to Daddy we’d been doing that all day she wanted to sing to Mommy. Finally, we got to sing it to him a couple of different times. He loved it of course!! And we made him Birthday cards, which he really liked too.
Oh Yeah!! And we are now 18 months old. WOW! I suddenly feel a little sad. She is so wonderful. J
